Formed in 1971, the Lilydale & District Historical Society
has accumulated an extensive archive on the people and events of the Lilydale, Chirnside Park, Kilsyth, Montrose, Coldstream, Yering, Gruyere, Seville and Silvan areas and a large archive on Coldstream's most famous resident, Dame Nellie Melba
Family historians, researchers, schools and students can access the Lilydale & District Historical Society's
extensive resources at The Old Lilydale Court House
which include several hundred family history files, more than 6000 images, a local history library, Lilydale cemetery Burial Registers, digitised copies of the Lilydale Express newspaper and the former Shire of Lillydale rate books.
Our skilled volunteers can assist you with your research or carry out research on your behalf.
Each year at The Old Lilydale Court House
, the Lilydale & District Historical Society
erects two new displays portraying people, places and events of Lilydale and the surrounding district.
